

eTab’s Table Management System Raises Wait Staff Performance & Management Control:
Restaurant operators face the constant challenge of delivering consistent, quality service to its patrons. eTab’s Table Management System provides operators a tool that: 1) makes it far easier for servers to maintain a positive service level across all of their tables; and 2) provides management a tool for training, managing and ranking its server team.
For Servers: Each server carries a handheld device that provides them an instant report on every interaction at every table they serve and a running time clock that shows how much time has passed since the patron has:
- Started ordering
- Placed their drink or food order with the kitchen/bar
- Paged their server for help
- Requested to pay in cash
- Paid by credit card (showing the bill is closed out)
With a glance servers can determine the status of each table and accurately prioritize their actions, a feature makes it simple for the server to maintain a strong service level at all of their tables, resulting in greater patron satisfaction and higher tips. In eTab pilot restaurants servers experienced an increase in tips of two percentage points due to increased patron satisfaction from receiving their food, drinks and bill when and how they wanted them.
For Managers: For managers, eTab offers a master screen that allow observation in real time of all open tables and measurement of wait staff performance. Summary statistics allow managers the ability to grade their wait staff, influence behavior with performance-based financial incentives and optimize revenue by scheduling the best performing wait staff during peak times.
