Integrating the eTab system into a restaurant’s operations is simple, rapid and free. The process consists of the following steps:

Programming the Menu

eTab programs the restaurant’s entire menu, pricing, specials (items, pricing and timing) and promotions into the eTab system, then executes a full integration with the restaurant’s POS system. This process takes approximately one to three weeks. The completed integration is presented to the restaurant for approval. NOTE: The eTab system has been designed so it CANNOT negatively impact the restaurant’s POS system in any way.

System Elements

The eTab system installed in the restaurant consists of five elements:

  • A proxy server that integrates with the POS system server
  • Handheld units for the wait staff
  • Tabletop units for the patrons
  • A commercial grade WiFi unit for enabling communication between the eTab units and the POS system
  • A multi-threat firewall securing all wireless traffic and access to the POS server

Installing eTab

eTab’s installation team will contact restaurant management to arrange an installation date. There is no interruption of the restaurant’s POS system at any time. Integration of the approved menu into the POS system, installation of the WiFi unit(s), testing of the system and training of the staff takes approximately three (3) hours.

Compatible POS Systems

eTab is currently compatible with MICROS, POSitouch and Applebee’s AppleOne POS systems. Other popular POS systems will be available later in 2012. If you use a POS with which eTab is not currently integrated and you would like to test eTab, please submit a request from the contact section of our website. Integration with most POS systems requires approximately 30 days.

Compatible Table Management Systems

eTab has fully integrated with the ProHost table management system developed by ESP Systems.

Cost of Installation

There are no up-front investment costs required to install eTab in a restaurant. A modest maintenance fee is charged for technical support, site maintenance and ongoing programming updates.
